2012/11/06 Final CLOSER Conference

12th and 13th November 2012

The conference will cover all the important topics the CLOSER project was concerned with over the past years, such as co-modality, current trends in transport and their effect on interfaces, core indicators developed within the project to help standardization of interface defenition, Emerging Mobility Schemes for Passenger and Freight transport and many more. The results of the researches carried out within each of the work package will also be presented on the final conference along with presentations of associated topics regarding transport and its efficiency.

In this context, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) stands out as a dominant approach and doctrine, even if its effectiveness in concrete terms remains open to question. The impetus for this conference can also be related to a Franco-German research-action program called Bahn.Ville, focused on the development of urban planning approaches oriented toward rail and intermodality (Bahn.Ville2.fr, Bahn-ville2.de).
